News and Information from the Lewiston - Clarkston area of the Snake River Region. We will be focusing on special events, tournaments, derbys and other news related to this area and fishing.

Washington is opening several 'zones'' on the Snake River for Spring Chinook. Read the rules and areas that will give anglers in the Lewis Clark area added options for fishing close to home.

Please note the information at the bottom of the linked page as it may impact anglers fishing for other species in the areas that will be open for spring Chinook.

NEW ENDORSEMENT

In the State of Washington on the Snake and Grande Rhonde rivers salmon and steelhead fishermen, effective April 1, 2010, are required to purchase a new Endorsement that will cost $8.25. The Endorsement is required, along with a fishing license, for anglers 15 years or older when these rivers are open to fishing these species.

NEW REGULATIONS

The following rules will be in effect for all species [includes smallmouth, sturgeon, catfish etc.] In all the open salmon sections on the Snake River during the 2010 season. Barbless hooks only, unlawful or any hook larger than 5/8 inch [point of hook to shank]. Night closure will be in effect which means no fishing of any kind from one hour after sundown to 1/2 hour before sunrise. This rule will cease when salmon season is closed on the designated river sections.

The limit is two adults and four jacks which are fish between 12 and 24 inches. All retained fish must have their adipose clipped. Fishing must cease as soon as the adult limit is retained. Also, anglers can not remove any chinook or steelhead from the water unless it is to be kept as part of your daily bag limit.
